Soaking Up Summer

bluefishartdesign

As summer and its splendor press on, I’m determined to soak up every. last. minute. before it ends. And because my summer travels are now fond memories etched in my mind and the occasional photograph, I’ve created a late-summer bucket list to keep the season fresh and lively.

My Late-Summer Bucket List

  1. Attend an outdoor concert. Where I live, there are plenty of free outdoor concerts. I’m willing to bet you’ll find one or two, in your neighborhood or at a nearby park, by enlisting the help of Google.

  2. Namaste in my backyard. Mindful movement, deep breaths and mental rest…yoga is a wonderful way to stay in the moment, and what better place to restore and re-calibrate than in the comfort of my own space.

  3. Stroll among the tented booths at a local farmers market. Summertime produce is among the best of Mother Nature’s treasures. And farmers markets are some of the most wholesome venues and a great way to buy local.

  4. Go on a picnic. What better time of year to grab a blanket, pack some snacks and go to a local park. Whether you like to lay and gaze at the trees, people watch or read a book, it’s a mini-vaca from the daily grind.

I invite you to follow my bucket list and to check the items off as you go, or to create a list entirely of your own. And if lists aren’t your thing, that’s fine, too, just commit to living the remainder of summer to its fullest.
